Sometimes, despite your personal opinions, you have to put your feelings aside and be the bigger person. It's never easy, but it's (supposedly) the right thing to do.
Today was one of those times.
I had an argument with a friend, that's sort-of lasted a few months and is sort-of new. We both ended up saying things we didn't mean, and we were stuck in the no man's land of not talking and arguing at the same time. As far as I was concerned, she said one of the worst things she could say- as far as she was concerned, I was just being annoying.
However, the not talking/arguing was beginning to make both of us extremely stressed- and, more importantly, it was upsetting our other friends and getting in the way of plans we'd made. Therefore, I decided that even though I wasn't necessarily happy with her, I needed to try and make things better, if just for the sake of our mutual friends.
So I was the bigger person, and we're now a little better, if not completely happy with each other. People say being the bigger person makes you feel better? Maybe it will, once I stop feeling hacked off.
