Firstly, the far too obvious. Congratulations to the royal family.
However, the second piece of recent news, and the one I feel is far more important and relevant to me- EQUAL MARRIAGE IS NOW LAW FOR ENGLAND AND WALES!!!! This is a huge, huge success, and I am absolutely, over-the-moon thrilled. It's just... Words don't go far enough. It's a win. And, as this article so rightly points out, it's a win for everyone- partly because it shows that change is possible, and partly because it shows more respect for the individual within society.
I could use this space to do a little rant on how it's huge news and yet has been completely underplayed by the media etc., but I'd rather not sour this. Just be happy.
