5th July: My Hero- And Why

This post would have been a lot easier to write had I done it before Thursday. However, on Thursday, someone said something that got me thinking about two people who were sort-of childhood heroes, who now make me feel ill. No prizes for guessing who one of those is. So that made me wonder whether we really should make people into our heroes, because you never know what's going to happen. It's something I've been chewing over, and it's something that I'm going to write a bit about in a separate post.
At the end of the day, despite cases where things go wrong, I still have heroes. I sat down to write this post, and I got through about three of them, and then I stopped, because I realised it was impossible. To write about each and every one of my heroes would take years, and it's a constantly growing list, and I'd still miss people out somehow. I'll leave you with this- my heroes do not wear capes. They do not have super-powers. If you asked them, they would say they have never saved any lives. But they have, for each and every one of them has saved me at some point. My heroes are all around me, some near, some far- some I come into contact with every day, some I've never met. I love them all.
