It's kind of weird thinking that, in a few weeks, I'll only have to wear my uniform for exams... And then, after that, never again. It's kind of become such a part of my life over the last few years that it'll seem odd being without it... No more having to check whether or not I've got a clean polo shirt, and if I can find a suitable black skirt. Sure, there's still the question of what to wear, but not in the same sense.
When I started school, it was the thing that brought everyone that little big more together. The school uniform is really really expensive, so you can tell the Year Seven's because they're dwarfed by the clothes that have been bought 'to last as long as possible'. I still remember a friend in an older year coming over to say hi, and telling me to undo my top button because it wasn't 'cool'. For most of my school life, all buttons done up was 'uncool', one button was normal, two buttons cooler and all three buttons immediately said you were a slag/player. All this conveyed in buttons!
Now, all the 'cool kids' have their top button done up. Apparently it's a fashion statement, but most of us find it stupid.
Me? One button undone, the whole five years.
