Prom!! ~ Adventures With Technicolour Hair

*** This is a scheduled post. And also long overdue. Sorry!!***

When I tried to write a diary entry about prom, I realised that a lot of the evening had kind of melted into one- I've got loads and loads of memories, but I can't really remember what order they came in or anything like that. So I'm just going to put a load of excerpts I guess about what happened, accompanied by a few pics. Unfortunately I can't post all of my favourite pictures (for various reasons), but I have got permission to post some of them!

- The fire engine we travelled in was half an hour late, which caused a lot of unnecessary panic!
- We had non-alcoholic champagne, which got everywhere a couple of times...
- BB and I invented several moves in the fire engine (including the Zumba, the Hitler and the slow-slow-fast-fast-fast)
- IG spent time in the fire engine pelvic thrusting and 'becoming a synthesiser'
- In the fire engine I was sat between IG and BB, so got the full effect when they decided to do synchronised shoulder wriggling
- When we arrived, the fire engine stopped suddenly on a slope. As there were no seat belts, we all ended up falling on the floor!
- I moaned about my heels a lot, which BB and ML (another friend) thought was hilarous, and took the mick out of as much as they could
- There were pictures all around the main room, so BB, ML and I concocted a weird story about them; when the Biology/Makaton teacher heard about this, she said 'Of course that's what you're doing. What else would you be doing as prom'. Unsarcastically, may I mention!
- BB, ML and I got into a conversation about Prometheus, only we couldn't remember his name, so we asked one of the English teachers, who said she'd get back to us. A couple of hours later, she walked over and just said 'Prometheus'
- IG looked like Doctor Who and BB looked Victorian
- BB and ML decided that one of the portraits was called Buttercup and had invented the high heel, so whenever I moaned about my heels they pointed at the portrait and said 'blame Buttercup'
- I declared that I didn't want to have an affair with BB
- BB found out the hard way that when ML has caffeine he gets very very flirty
- Whenever I was near balloons and Mr E (one of the Business teachers) I would deposit them next to him
- We got a picture of the whole Signing Thursday crew doing different signs!!
- I was chatting with BB and ML when we realised that I was the only girl- so ML decided to find females for me to talk to
-On the way, BB and I agreed that if anyone asks if we're together, I should say 'no, he's got a girlfriend, and I'm looking for one' as casually and smoothly as possible- I was then desperate for someone to ask us that. At 11:40, Mr E made a comment about us flirting. I jumped up and down ecstatically and giggled out my line very incoherently. When I stopped, we realised that not only were the people we'd been talking to giving us weird looks, but a whole group of teachers having a conversation next to us and stopped to watch. It was then agreed that I have a brilliant bounce.
- At the end they put on 'Someone Like You' (see below), and everyone was swaying in a huge circle which was beautiful. Then they put on 'Mr Brightside' (again, see below) and we all jumped up and down and yelled the lyrics; at the end I feel on the floor. It was mad, but a great ending to a fantastic night.
- I cried a lot at the end. Admittedly.
