Daisies & Skateboards

I've officially finished AS Sociology!! Yay!! Well- I hope I have anyway, all depends on exam results. But for now I have!! The exam was okay; I'm just trying not to overthink it. What I want to blog about is a beautiful half hour of my day that came after the exam. To set the scene- my sixth form is near an orchard, with sloping grassy bits, which are great for rolling down. They're also great if you manage to acquire a skateboard, which one of my friends did today... Cue half an hour or so of watching people go down the slopes in all manner of ways- I'm amazed no one got seriously hurt, especially as there are trees all around!! We provided some great entertainment (also a distraction oops) to the classrooms that could see us; at least three windows were filled with students watching. We probably looked like total idiots, but ah well. We're teenagers, we're allowed!! I only went down a couple of times but it was super fun!! I also enjoyed just dancing around in the sun, admiring the daisies and not worrying about revision for the first time in a while! After a really stressful, intense-revision-y week, and the exam, a bit of fun & laughter was just what I needed! Yay!

Ain't No Party Like An S Club Party

Heya!! Just a quick one to say that I have just returned from Cardiff, where I saw S Club 7's Bring It All Back tour!! Eek- my smaller self is screaming!! It was a super cool night, very interesting for lots of reasons, largely as it was so different to any gig I've ever been to before- I tend to go for smaller things with singer/songwriters, all live music, more about the music etc.; S Club was entirely different, but very good! I enjoyed it greatly, but am now exhausted- achy legs & a sore throat (from screaming lyrics whoops).
Got college in less hours than I would like, so am signing off for now; will post more (and pics!!) as soon as the mountain of revision clears slightly. Adios, and love to all xxx

Hair Dye (Of Course)

A couple of weeks ago, my friend CH and I armed ourselves with lots and lots of bleach/hair dye, and spent several hours transforming... No pictures of her or the both of us, but holla below for the progress I made (excuse the writing; I got them from my Snapchat). Also- my hair no longer looks like the last picture at all. But ah well. I think it's kinda cool to see the transition.

Cat Family Picnic

Following Tuesday's happiness, on Wednesday I hosted a Cat Family picnic!! I was pretty excited about this, as not only did it mean seeing some of the best people in the world, but it also involved extending my cooking to people outside of my family- hehe! I was up bright and early to cook pasta, and to get the house ready. MLTHWB, BB and SW came over at around 11:30, and we headed down to the field to set up camp.

We spent most of the late morning/early afternoon chilling out and eating; plus we played a couple of games of Consequences, of course!! Also took BB's weird quiz, on which I did best, but we'll leave that there. Ginny enjoyed sitting out with us, particularly as I fed her probably more than I should have done... But I managed to get some decent pictures of her, so all was well!
As we were waiting for GS to arrive, we had to keep sending people back to the house to check if she was there or not. Following one such occasion, I came back to the picnic to witness this- SW in his natural habitat, up a tree. Of course. (This is a much more common occurrence that it might seem!)
Following that, the rest of us decided that we wanted to try climbing, too. That went about as successfully as the following picture demonstrates...
Eventually, GS arrived- we ate more food, played more games and did quizzes (incredibly hard ones) devised by myself and MLTWB. Just before we were about to pack up and head inside, we got attacked by a small pack of wild dogs. By which I do indeed mean that four young spaniels decided that they wanted to picnic, too. No one really knew what to do; we just put the food on our heads and hoped for the best. It was a bit of a surreal experience to be honest.

After that, we headed back to my house to play Harry Potter Cluedo, Who Am I?, Consequences and a tiny bit of online CAH... PCH turned up in the early evening, but unfortunately GS had left shortly before :( We decided to walk to a nearby park, where we played in the sand and then had a game of Sardines- woop woop!!

The most notable hiding place goes to SW, for this gem...
Finally finally finally, we went back to my house & everyone headed back to their respective homes.

Such a beautiful beautiful day!! <3

Wombies

So much has happened recently that I'm struggling to figure out what to post about. However, I'm going to go for Wednesday, when the Wombies had a very impromptu but very fabulous meet up!
We started off by going for lunch at Roll for the Soul, my current favourite eaterie. It's all vegetarian (the significance of this will be explained in my next post!!) and just generally amazing. After that, we headed to Central Library to do some revision. I think we did pretty well- we did over two hours without chatting (plus breaks). Yay for productivity!!
After that we headed back into town, where I got my nose pierced and we got bubble tea. Now, don't get too excited- but here is the first ever picture of all the WombBuds to be posted on this blog. Woah!! (Yes, that's a unicorn onesie. Also to be explained in the next post).
Anywho, we meandered back to the centre, stopping briefly by the Easter stuff in the Galleries...
Once we got to the centre, we started doing a treasure hunt thing that we had. However, it was pretty cold, so we gave up quite quickly. We headed to what we thought was a cute cafe by the Harbour; it ended up being a cute restaurant. Not what we wanted!!
After a bit of accidental exploration, we finally ended up in the Boston Tea Party for hot drinks and cake :)
Following that we had a quick trip to Brandon Hill (for the view, and then the park) before heading home. One good day out!! ^.^

Comic Relief 2015

For Comic Relief, our sixth form held a dress up day, with a theme of 'film characters'. Whilst I was wondering what to go as, my mum mentioned having seen a trailer for the new Suffragette movie. Perfect!
Unfortunately, only a few people (ie, four!) dressed up- most people donated by buying cakes from the cake sale instead. However, it was still fun to get involved :) Below, from left to right: Top Gun, Suffragette, Lara Croft and Wednesday Addams (the Addams family). Woo!

Glitter Party

Yesterday, it was my friend RH's birthday party- which just so happened to be glitter themed!! It was a really fun afternoon, and I enjoyed spending time with friends from Mentality as well as meeting new people. Plus there were uber-amounts of glitter- RH and I had a glitter fight (to make up for not having a pen fight, which usually occurs), and I was completely covered with glitter. I'm now discovering how difficult it is to get off as well...!! Many many happy returns to the wonderful RH; here's hoping that this year is a beautiful one for her!!

Snow!!

***This is a scheduled post***
For the past couple of terms, GS (who's now left sixth form) has been coming back in on Thursdays to do work. Or, to do work for a bit, then to chill with yours truly. It has been all kinds of fantabulous and hilarious. Have some pictures of a couple of weeks ago, when it snowed...

Picture Update!

I'm so sorry for my recent absence!! Life has been very busy, and quite a bit of a rollercoaster. Unfortunately for anyone who enjoyed reading this thing, I'm soon off to Gambia for two weeks- however, I will try to queue stuff!! I haven't really got the energy or time to write a proper post right now- so have some pictures of life, lately.

I went away with my friend CF, and we went to the real Pooh Stick Bridge!!

GS and I enjoyed becoming cats (more to come on this!).

There was good news, and there was bad news...

I found a pair of legs (more to come on this one too!)

I spent time walking around beautiful Bristol at night

BB's Birthday Bonanza

After Reclaim the Night last Friday, I went to BB's house for his 18th birthday celebration. A combination of Reclaim the Night, buses and getting very lost meant that I was quite late (there was a pretty awful moment where I was totally lost and had 3% battery on my phone- thankfully that lasted a quick and panicked conversation with BB and RL and I was able to locate myself!).
The evening was very fun- lots of pizza (woo!) and hilarity. There was also some watching of Magic Mike (ew), interrupted by everyone turning their attention from Magic Mike to my reaction to Magic Mike. As in, I was curled up on the floor expressing my disgust. Naked men?! Ain't nobody got time for that! Ooh also we all wore a piece of fancy dress. That was fun!

Anyway, all in all it was a really fab evening- huge birthday wishes to the fabulous and beautiful BB!

Dan Nicholas' Conversation Garden

Last night, a group of us (myself, GS, PCH, MLTWB and a friend of MLTHWB) went to see MLTHWB's brother in his comedy show, Dan Nicholas' Conversation Garden, held at the Cube Cinema. We saw Dan perform once before, but that was a different type of show, so we really had little idea of what to expect. However, it sounded good, and it was a fiver for a night out, so we went for it!
The evening started totally prosperously with myself, GS and PCH getting lost. Thankfully, that scenario got sorted out pretty quickly, and we managed to locate the venue and sit down etc. just in time for the show to start! We really enjoyed the first support act, who based his performance around literally wearing the mic. Had to be seen to be believed! The second support act was also good, though a little nervous at times. However, for us, the highlight of the pre-act stuff was the compere, who at one point required two volunteers. Cue GS and her five minutes of fame! Despite what she says, it was absolutely amazing, and we were all hysterical. Natural comedic timing ;)
HIGH FIVE
Trying to escape
THIS IS THE CUTEST
After that, there was an interval, during which I realised that I knew the three people sat behind us, which was cool. A guy also came round with a bucket asking people to put their names in-  Conversation Garden is based around audience participation. PCH, GS and I all put our names down, laughing at the time about how funny it would be if GS got called up again.
The show began really well, and had us all giggling within seconds. After an introduction, the first name was drawn from the bucket- and PCH and I became a giggling mess. Guess who was first up?!
Hehe
Each person who went up had a three minute 'interview', after which they had to complete a challenge. All of these were hugely hilarious, and worked really really well! In between, there were general comedic bits from Dan and his two co-stars, all of which were fantastic. Not going to spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but overall it involved a bird costume, film re-enactments and pants. Can't you see how fabby it was?!
All in all, a really really good night- if you ever ever get a chance to see Conversation Garden, DO IT!!
